AI to boost learning in Tripura schools

Agartala, July 21: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday, underscored the need to make classrooms more engaging and interactive by integrating smart classroom technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the teaching-learning process.

Speaking at a state-level commendation ceremony held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan to honour schools that secured 100% pass results in the Class 10 and 12 board exams, Saha called upon teachers to stay updated with evolving technologies and modern teaching methodologies.

Saha said the government is prioritising education and actively working to transform Tripura into an educational hub.

He noted that the number of schools, colleges, technical and professional institutions, and universities—both government and private—has significantly increased in recent years due to focused government policies.

Emphasising the role of technology in improving learning outcomes, Saha said, “As our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also stressed, the use of Artificial Intelligence in classrooms can revolutionise education. Unlike traditional methods, smart classrooms offer three-dimensional, interactive learning experiences that make lessons more effective and enjoyable.”

He added that the government is also focusing on teacher training and skill development, which are essential for the optimal use of educational technology.

Commenting on recent academic performance, Saha said board results in state-run schools have shown marked improvement, particularly in Vidyajyoti schools that recently transitioned to English medium and CBSE affiliation. “This year, the pass percentage in Tripura’s central board government schools is two percent higher than that of Assam,” he claimed.
