Preliminary investigations suggest the thieves used a gas cutter to break open the ATM machine. CCTV footage from the ATM booth captured four individuals executing the burglary, all of whom appear to have operated with a level of coordination that hints at prior experience.

Police suspect the involvement of an interstate gang, as the method used closely resembles recent ATM thefts reported in parts of Assam.

A case has been registered at Mawngap Police Station, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the culprits.
